If you haven’t seen the end of Backyard Brawl 4, then you need to head on over to Brawl section of UBWWrestling.com to witness the controversy and what appears to be the end of Ajax in the UBW. The Championship Committee, a rather unknown has refused to go any further into the situation and says it will, once and for all settle the disputes on the September 7th edition of Massacre.
Whatever the Championship Committee decides those close to the situation have been very vocal about what many speculate to be the end of Ajax. “I wouldn’t expect to see Ajax around here anytime soon,” speculated ring announcer Ray Ray. Other’s within UBW speak a more sincere tone, one that says the new re-birth of the UBW is headed in a direction without Ajax. “Expecting to see Alex (Ajax) in a UBW backyard anytime soon would be absurd,” said a UBW superstar who asked not to be named for fear of repercussions from the Championship Committee. “We liked Alex, quite a lot, but it doesn’t matter, cause we are not the one’s in charge.”
Ajax, a veteran to the backyard, made his debut in 2002 when joining United Backyard Wrestling. After a few stints, even one as ‘Alex the Ninja’, he found himself holding the UBW World Championship despite very heavy odds. This is not the first time those in the “front office” have went at odd’s with Ajax. In 2003, following Backyard Brawl and a successful Ruckus, then-UBW Owner Gregory Stevens (now a member of the Championship Committee) stripped Ajax of the title, declaring it vacant. Later in 2004 Ajax once again was screwed out of the title by loosing, thanks in part to another screw job, to Alex Andrewus. Oddly enough, Ajax found himself at odd’s with one Joshua Burns. Burns, who in later 2004 had taken control of the weekly duties of the UBW, had went at odd’s with the rising superstar, screwing him over week in and week out on Revulsion.
Despite his rocky historical pattern with the UBW, Ajax had continued to be the widely acclaimed ‘Golden Boy’ of the UBW, helping introduce the promotion upon it’s return just a few weeks ago. Despite all, situations beyond our understanding and liking occurred at what was supposed to be the triumphant return of United Backyard Wrestling. Yet recent events have loomed a temporary cloud over the event by what many expect to have been the final match ever of the UBW-bred superstar, Ajax.
