Is W.E.E.D. responsible for UBW’s return?

W.E.E.D. (2009) Powerful, manipulative and devious. These are words UBW fans might often use when describing the ‘mega-power’ group of backyard veterans Josh Burns and UBW Champion, Big Poppa Peepers. The group, often despised but somehow cheered by some fans, has ignored warnings over the past few months from Championship Committee members, and even drew the face and return of exiled former UBW owner Gregory Stevens. Still despite all warnings the group continued, beating down golden-boy Ajax whenever they could, and did.

Did the actions of W.E.E.D. though, bring on the return of the UBW? Many argue “yes” and for very good reasons. First and most simply, looking at the history of the Championship Committee in the UWA/UBW, they board has upheld an excellent track record of staying out mostly all affairs, including the weekly operations of the organization. The only times we have seen the Championship Committee is to take care of vacant title situations and most recently, the actions of Joshua Burns and Big Poppa Peepers.

Instigating all who stand against them, W.E.E.D. has grown powerful and now includes the likes of The Fallen and the intimidating ‘Eastside Brick wall’ Hugh Flynt. This mega-power group, as earlier described, has used nothing but violence and twisted mind-games to gain a one-up on their foes, which recently has come to include mostly everyone in the the locker room. With the promotion on the brink of UWA-loyalists and those standing in the corner of Josh Burns, the unthinkable occurred as the return of the UBW was announced by the board. Many rejoiced, while the likes of W.E.E.D and even Big Daddy Johnson, a huge Burns’ opponent, cringed at it’s return to the backyard.

Would UBW have returned if it was not for the actions of a few men? “It only would have been a matter of time before the committee had an excuse to dump the UWA moniker and go back to it’s comfy UBW couch,” detested the unhappy Big Daddy Dave Johnson. The former UWA Champion’s dislike for the UBW stems from bad blood before the company’s initial cease in operations back in 2005. His feelings, however, are not lone, and seemed to be shared by others who wish to remain anonymous in the locker room, however the opinions of one important group still looms, the fans.

What do you think?

Is Josh Burns, Big Poppa Peepers and the rest W.E.E.D’s actions responsible for the return of UBW?
