The following is an official Press Release from the desk of the Championship Committee:

“Greetings UBW loyalists and former UWA and IBW fans. What a memorable Backyard Brawl it was this past week in beautiful Des Moines, Iowa. Depsite calls for heavy downpour during Brawl, clouds and hopes cleared up as a sunny day prevailed and the backyard wrestling faithful prepared themselves for yet another great show. It was the return of the beloved UBW.

However, other moments of confusion and chaos seemed to prevail in the final moments of the event. From Championship Comittee member Gregory Stevens’ slurred speech, to our referees inability to fairly make the right calls, the trust between the promotion and it’s fans was broken. Our main event, hyped for quite sometime, toned up the evening well with a feeling of being left empty-handed.

That is why we, collectively, as a Championship Comittee and a company would like to take a moment to apologize to the fans, viewers and long-time followers of the UBW. Most importantly, we would like to apologize to the great talent who put on some of the best matches witnessed in the backyard in months, if not years. We should overlook the negatives of this past event, because honestly they where limited and minute in comparison to the astonishing acolades of  our talent who entertained the live audience and will be sure to dazzle our online audience.

This is UBW. UBW is as much of the backyard as the backyard is UBW. They are synonymous and will continue to be for a very long time.
