UBW Wrestling, Inc - (November 1, 2003) It has came to UBW’s attention that our local news station, ABC Affiliate WOI-TV 5 has taken a unsuccessful stab at the backyard wrestling business. And yes, we do mean business.
Backyard Wrestler’s all around are given a bad word for the lack of training and dangerous, ground breaking stunts. However many media outlets such as USA Today, The New York Times and even the World Wrestling Entertainment have taken a low blow to this Backyard Sport. Backyard Wrestling is for pure entertainment and like many other sports a few do take it out of hand. However we believe it is not any body else’s job say what people can and cannot do in there free time.
So that is why Today we are unveiling a new campaign of “Support the Backyard Sport: Tell the media and pro wrestler’s to mind there own business!” This campaign is believed to be the first ever of it’s kind and UBW is going to begin a registration of all Backyard Wrestling Federation’s in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia to sign up and register as a federation who wants to take part in telling people who are trying to hold our sport down and make it illegal to ‘back off’. If you are not part of Wrestling Federation you may join as a individual. Each Backyard Wrestling Federation who join’s will become part of the Official “Support The Backyard Sport” Campaign and will receive a banner of there choosing in which they can place on there website telling everyone what the ‘hell they think’.
It is United Backyard Wrestling’s goal to achieve over 300 backyard wrestling federations in within in the next six months. “Support the Backyard Sport” is a non-profit organization owned and operated by UBW.
